Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®)
We offer the world’s top three FDA-approved wrinkle relaxers on the market. Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin®. A full consultation is provided and no allergy testing is required pre-treatment.
These products work by relaxing the facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles when your face is in animation. Over time the repetitive action of frowning, squinting or smiling can create lines to appear which deepen and linger longer when the face is at rest.
Common aesthetic and cosmetic areas for treatment are as follows:
Frown Lines – the ‘11s’ lines between our eyebrows which deepen over time as we frown repeatedly.
Crow’s Feet – These are often referred to as our lovely laughter lines but can deepen with time and create lines that stay there when not in animation.
Forehead – The horizontal lines across your forehead can be softened nicely.

A treatment with wrinkle relaxers is very quick and simple. A consultation will confirm your areas of concern, we then prescribe your dose or number of units required for the best outcome. A very small amount is injected via a tiny needle into the desired area. The treatment itself generally takes around 5-10 mins. Pain is minimal and no pain relief is required. A great treatment to do in your lunch break is you can carry on with your normal daily activities immediately with no downtime.
-
You will generally start to see results anywhere from 2-7 days depending on the product used and how quickly your body uptakes it. The full effect can be seen from 14 days. Treatments will usually last up to four months for cosmetic use and up to a year for therapeutic use.
-
These products have FDA approval and are registered with Medsafe. They have been used in NZ for many decades in New Zealand in Therapeutic areas such as Opthamology, Urology and Neurology as well as for Aesthetic / Cosmetic treatments.
Although serious complications are rare, minor side effects commonly seen are headaches for a day or so after the treatment, bruising at the site of injection and tenderness. Most people do not experience any side effects at all.
